It represents the highest quality of craftsmanship and materials, and offers a few unique features not seen before. For these players, we have now designed the Shubb Fine Tune Capo. We have also been aware of some players who will always prefer a U-shaped, screw operated capo that can be stored behind the nut while not in use. Many of the top players will use nothing but a Shubb. Its action most closely resembles that of the human hand, and we are confident that it is the most accurate capo in the world. The C1 of course is still a great choice in capo especially compared to some of the options out there, just since it is plated you might end up with some scratches. We’ve been making guitar capos for nearly forty years, utilizing our patented over-center locking principle. So keep that in mind as well.īetween the two, the Shubb S1 is better, and since it’s only a few dollars more and you’ll be using it for years to come, it’s probably the best bet just to get it. Especially for Shubbs which are known to last years, it’s nice to know your capo won’t scratch since you’ll have it so long.Īlso, it’s good to note that since these are built very sleek and minimalistic, the Capos aren’t generally noticed like some of the bulkier capos out there, so most likely scratches are only going to be seen by you.

    #Shubb capo upgrade

You’ll be able to use each one the same, just with the deluxe you get a slightly better look and won’t deal with the scratches, personally I do think the stainless steel is a nice upgrade for the deluxe because scratching can be an issue with capos. All of the changes made between the Deluxe and standard are small and won’t really affect it’s use. Will these differences affect the usability of the Capos? There is also a generally small price difference between the two, with the deluxe costing a slight bit more, which does make sense since it costs more to manufacture in the U.S.A. A really small change, but I do think it does make the Deluxe look more elegant. There is also a very subtle design change between the two, if you look closely at the bottom two parts on the underside not the adjustable screw or lever, you’ll notice that at the end of the standard (C1) it is curved at the end where on the Deluxe (S1) there isn’t a curve and it’s flat. The S1 is also made entirely in the States, and the C1 is not. There is no plating on the S1, it is completely Stainless Steel, so it is extremely scratch resistant and more durable. There are some small differences however, the S1 is a solid stainless steel where the C1 is is nickel-plated. When it comes to major differences, there aren’t really any between these two. (See C1 Standard Info, Pricing, and Specs on Amazon) (See S1 Deluxe Info, Pricing, and Specs on Amazon) Here are the two best review videos on Youtube for each:
